How it works
Every candle is poured to order by Stacey. Here’s what happens between the moment you design yours and the moment you light it.
Design it
Answer a few plain questions — size, colour, scent, label. The price and the ready-by date update as you choose.
Send your request
Checkout sends your order to Stacey. Nothing is charged at this point.
She pours, it cures
She pours in small batches, then the candles rest so the scent comes through when they’re lit.
Pay, then it’s yours
You pay once she confirms. Then it ships to you, or you pick it up.
Honest timing
The date you see in the designer is worked out from three real things, and we show you each one rather than promising it “ships soon”.
The queue
Right now there is 1 day of orders ahead of a new one. Stacey pours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, about 24 candles a day.
Pouring
Each candle takes its own time to pour — longer for bigger batches, keepsake figures that are ordered in, or finishing touches like dried botanicals. Choosing “rush” shortens it where that’s possible.
Curing
Soy wax needs to rest after it’s poured so the scent binds and throws well when you light it. Curing is counted in calendar days; the ready date then moves to the next day Stacey is in the studio.
Getting it to you
Something special? You’ll get a quote first
If you ask for something off the menu — matching an invitation, a particular colour, a name in a special font — or attach a reference picture, your order waits as a request. Stacey reads it and sends you a quote: any change to the price, and a ready date she can promise. You can accept it, which confirms the order, or decline it and owe nothing.
Paying
You never pay when you send a request. Once Stacey confirms your order — straight away for candles from the menu, after you accept a quote for special ones — she’ll let you know how to pay. Your order page always shows what’s owed.
Caring for your candle
- Let the first burn go until the melted wax reaches the edge — about an hour for every inch across. It stops the candle tunnelling.
- Trim the wick to about ¼ inch before each lighting. Wooden wicks only need the char brushed off.
- Burn for up to four hours at a time, on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, children and pets. Never leave a flame alone.
- Keepsake pillars: burn on a plate. As the wax melts away the figure appears — it’s yours to keep.
- Tapers: use a holder that fits snugly, and keep them upright and out of a draft so they don’t drip.
- Stop when there’s about ½ inch of wax left in a jar.
